Belarusian Embassy in Russia arranges tour to Moscow for Belarusian children

MINSK, 5 January (BelTA) – A group of Belarusian children visited Moscow during the winter school holidays. The tour was arranged by the Belarusian Embassy in Russia. The group comprised 44 school students from the village of Perezhir and kids from families with many children, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Embassy in Russia.
The three-day tour started with a visit to the embassy and a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Igor Petrishenko. The children were invited on a guided tour of the embassy and its business and culture center.

The program of the visit included a Christmas show at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, tours of Red Square and Sokolniki Park.

The tour was organized as part of the nationwide charity campaign Our Children with the participation of the Belarusian Association of Large Families and with the financial support of Nikolai Vlasyuk, a Belarus-born businessman, the head of the Russian group of companies SunCity.

Perezhir secondary school is under the patronage of Belarus’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs which assists the school in joint projects aimed to preserve the memory of the veteran diplomats of WWII, their contribution to the development of the diplomatic service and promotion of the national interests abroad. In 2002, Perezhir school was named after Anatoly Gurinovich, ex-Minister of Foreign Affairs of the BSSR. In 2016, a museum to commemorate Anatoly Gurinovich was opened at the school. The museum tells the history of the school, Pukhovichi District and Belarusian diplomacy. A separate stand is devoted to the foreign policy activities of Belarus.
