MINSK, 27 September (BelTA) – Export of enterprises run by Belarus’ Agriculture and Food Ministry to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) increased ten times in January-July 2017 as against the same period of last year, BelTA learned from Aleksei Bogdanov, Head of the Central Office for Foreign Economic Activities of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry, on 27 September.

"We exported $436,000 worth of products to the UAE in January-July 2017. The export increased ten times as against the same period a year earlier. It includes dairy products, quark and cheese. The UAE delegation, which is visiting Agriculture and Food Ministry today, is interested in buying our products to ensure the food security of the country," Aleksei Bogdanov said. Such companies as OAO Smorgon Dairy Products, OAO Savushkin Product, OAO Bellakt (Volkovysk) and OAO Turov Dairy Industrial Complex have exported their products to the UAE.

In order to supply products to the UAE a company must be certified for compliance with Halal standards. "Some of our companies supply products to the UAE as they are already certified. We are also working on opening the Arab market for our beef and poultry," Alexei Bogdanov noted.
