Belarus' youth urged to take better care of native land

Young people should take better care of the places where they come from, First Secretary of the BRSM Youth Union Central Committee Dmitry Voronyuk told the young talents from Mogilev who took part in a Christmas gathering Dreams Come True in the House of the Youth in Minsk on 2 January, BelTA has learned.

“We always say that only we decide how beautiful our country, our native land and our street will be. Therefore, we would like the children and their parents to take good care of what they have and make their native land a better place to live. In 2019 the youth should pay more attention to the places they come from,” Dmitry Voronyuk said.

The Mogilev delegation included 45 children agenda 7-14 years. These are ‘A’ grade students, winners of school contests, sports competitions, art contests, representatives of public associations BRSM and the BRPO pioneer organization. The children showed their talents and discussed the things that concern the youth in their region. “Such a Christmas gathering is taking place in the House of the Youth for the first time. I am happy to see my fellow country people here, the best representatives of the Mogilev Oblast youth. It is important for us to hear young people and to talk to them. New ideas are often born out of such meetings. In particular, this year we are launching a project to create a park of family trees in Belarus. We want young people to be environmentally-friendly, to plant many trees and overall to be proud of their native land,” he noted.

Dmitry Voronyuk added that this year the work will continue to set up open creative spaces in Minsk and the regions. “The project kicked off in autumn. Now we are busy selecting venues for such creative spaces where young people will be able to meet and mingle with each other, arrange various events. We have plans to set up such spaces in every district and every big city. Our activists are involved in all kinds of activities. They remove show and ice in winter, plant trees in spring and do landscaping. There is a lot of work to do and our guys are always busy and are willing to do everything to grow in a beautiful country,” he emphasized.

The Christmas meeting at the House of the Youth and a musical show were arranged as part of the Charismas Miracle charity event of the BRSM and BRPO associations. This event continues the good traditions of the Our Children nationwide charity campaign.
