48.5% of Belarusians fully vaccinated against COVID-19
Some 48.5% of Belarusians have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, Alla Dashkevich, head of the epidemiology department of the National Center for Hygiene, Epidemiology and Public Health, told reporters in Minsk on 3 February, BelTA has learned.
"The vaccination campaign against COVID-19 continues in Belarus. To date, more than 58% of the Belarusians have received the first dose, of which 48.5% have completed the full course of immunization. Four regions - Brest, Vitebsk, Gomel, Mogilev regions – have the first-dose share at more than 60%. If we talk about the professional sectors, more than 96% have been vaccinated in healthcare, more than 79% in education, and about 86% of the personnel in institutions with a round-the-clock stay regime," Alla Dashkevich said.
About 73% of people over 60 and people with chronic diseases have been vaccinated.
Over 37,000 teenagers aged from 12 to 17 have received one shot of the vaccine and over 4,000 have been fully vaccinated.
Over 9,800 pregnant women got the first dose of the vaccine.
