Belarus is taking part in the Indonesian National Culture Week, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission.

On 19-26 November Indonesia is hosting the largest cultural event of the year - National Culture Week, organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture Research and Technology. This year's events are held online because of the situation with the coronavirus in the world. Indonesian President Joko Widodo attended the opening ceremony.

The event celebrates the multifaceted culture of Indonesia and cultural interaction with friendly countries. The events include contests, a conference and an exhibition. The National Culture week is themed “Cultural Spark Guides the Future”, with a focus on traditional cuisine and national costumes.

Indonesia has invited friendly countries to participate and introduce their culture.

Belarus responded to the invitation. This year the country is represented by the National History Museum with the support of the Belarusian Embassy in Indonesia. The museum has prepared a video dedicated to the national Belarusian costumes of different regions of the country. In accordance with the program Belarus' participation is broadcasted in the official stream of the Indonesian National Culture Week on 23 November.

Belarus is taking part in the Indonesian National Culture week for the first time but plans are in place to make this kind of cultural cooperation a good Belarusian-Indonesian tradition.
