Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia discuss cooperation in emergencies
A delegation of the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry, headed by Minister Vadim Siniavsky took part in the eighth joint collegium meeting of the Emergencies Ministries of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia, in Karaganda, BelTA learned from the press service of the ministry.
The agenda of the board meeting included the definition of strategic areas and forms of joint activities, the order of interaction between emergency bodies and units of the three countries aimed at preventing and eliminating emergencies, including in the border areas of the member-states, the organization of cooperation in professional training and skills development, improvement and development of material and technical base, and the exchange of experience in ensuring life safety of the population.
The meeting participants discussed tripartite cooperation issues such as the development of a common policy in the organization and implementation of state control (supervision) over compliance with the requirements of technical regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union, ensuring security during international sporting events, and events of social and political significance, the organization of cooperation between educational institutions of the Emergencies Ministries of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia.
In addition, the participants of the collegium meeting approved a work plan for 2022, which includes a number of practical activities (exercises, seminars, competitions) to exchange experience and to drill joint actions of emergency rescue units to respond to various emergencies.
In Karaganda, Vadim Siniavsky is set to hold working meetings with his counterparts fromKazakhstan and Russia to discuss the main areas of bilateral cooperation.
On 2 September, the Belarusian delegation will attend the opening ceremony of the 16th World Championship for Men and the 7th World Championship for Women in Fire and Rescue, which will feature Team Belarus.
“By participating in the joint collegium meeting Belarus seeks to develop cooperation on security in emergency situations, improve the methods and approaches to protect the population and territories from emergencies, promote Belarusian products for emergency services to foreign markets, and study the advanced security and safety technologies," the press service of the Emergencies Ministry said.
