Russia to lift all COVID restrictions from flights to, from Belarus
Russia will lift all the COVID-19 related restrictions from passenger transportation by air to and from Belarus. President of Russia Vladimir Putin made the statement after negotiations with Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko in Moscow on 9 September, BelTA has learned.
Vladimir Putin explained that this specific matter had not been discussed during the negotiations. However, a Russian government commission made the relevant decision the other day. βIt was decided that all the pre-COVID restrictions concerning transportation by air will be lifted,β he said.
Vladimir Putin remarked that over 200 flights were performed between Belarus and Russia every week before these restrictions were introduced. The current number is 36. βI don't think it will get back to the pre-COVID level in two days. It depends on the transportation market. But I think recovery will be fast,β he added.
