Theatrical assault on the castle, a tournament of archers and stunt shows await the guests of the knight's fest in Mstislavl

The Knights' Festival will take place in Mstislavl on the Castle Hill on August 7-8. This was announced by the head of the department of ideological work, culture and youth affairs of the Mstislavsk regional executive committee Natalya Biskup.
“The Knights' Festival has been held in Mstislavl since 2007. During this time, not only the residents of our region fell in love with it: spectators and participants gather from all over the republic, guests from the Russian Federation come. The festival was canceled last year due to the epidemiological situation. And this year he will return to the Castle Hill again, ”noted Natalya Biskup.
For the guests of the festival of medieval culture, the organizers prepare a rich program. A theatrical meeting will be organized at the outposts of the city. From 12.00 the city of craftsmen, attractions and fairs will be open. They will be located on Sovetskaya, Pirogovskaya, Kalinina and Yurchenko streets.
On the Petr Mstislavets Square at 13.00 the grand opening of the festival will take place - a procession and performance of knightly clubs, creative teams, equestrian history club "Golden Spur". From 13.30 on the street Komsomolskaya (Fire tower) you can visit the observation deck and the exhibition "About the past for the future." During the day in the Carmelite Church of the Assumption of the Mother of God there will be an excursion with a visit to the observation tower and the quest "Secrets of the Manuscript of the Middle Ages".
“By tradition, the Castle Hill will become the main place of the medieval festival. Themed farmsteads will work here. Festival guests will be able to treat themselves to medieval national cuisine and drinks. The Excalibur tavern will be open from 14.00 to 22.00. The donjon tower will house the Gone Life interactive platform, and a medieval interactive platform will be organized nearby. Excursions and exhibitions will be held at the excavation site of the ancient settlement, ”said Natalya Biskup.
Traditionally, guests of the holiday will be able to watch spectacular knightly fights. The tournament of fives / ten and fights of foot knights in 5x5 and 10x10 format under the auspices of Bugurt League starts at 14.50. It will be possible to look at the tactical buhurts from 4:50 pm - these will be "Capture the Banner", "Guard of the King" and others. Mass battles and an archery tournament will also take place here. The equestrian knight tournament will start at 18.00. And at 20.10 the guests of the festival will see a theatrical assault on the castle.
Demonstrations of historical reconstruction clubs, stunt shows, contests of medieval dishes and historical costumes are scheduled throughout the day. A large entertainment program is planned for the youngest guests of the festival.
There will also be concert programs, thematic performances by bands and creative groups. A fire show will be a highlight of the holiday - this year, fire performances will be shown by teams from Mogilev and Minsk. The holiday will end with screenings of a medieval feature film in the open air.
“Every year, historical reconstruction clubs from all over the republic and the Smolensk region came to our festival. We are also expecting many guests this year. Representatives of Mogilev, Minsk, Vitebsk, Gomel, Bobruisk and others have already confirmed their participation. Now the lists of participants are being formed, - emphasized Natalya Biskup. "But we are sure that this year the holiday will be bright and interesting."
