Belarusian track and field athletes won 11 medals at the Russian Indoor Championships


The Russian Indoor Athletics Championships, in which 23 Belarusian athletes took part, have ended in Moscow, BELTA correspondent reports.The final competition day brought two awards to our delegation. Violetta Skvortsova became the two-time champion of the tournament: the day before, the Belarusian won in the long jump, and today she turned out to be the strongest in the triple jump with a result of 14.36 meters. The silver medalist of the Czech Republic was pole vaulter Irina Zhuk, who achieved a height of 4.45 meters.A couple of our athletes were close to winning prizes on Sunday. Karina Demidik took fourth place in the high jump, and Vyacheslav Skudny also finished fourth in the 1500 meters. In the same type of program, Artem Kalachev was in fifth position, Dmitry Savin was seventh, and Dmitry Ivanenko was eighth.Thus, in total, over three days in Moscow, Belarusian athletes won 11 awards (7-3-1). Previously, success at the Russian Championship was celebrated by Oleg Tomashevich (shot put), Matvey Volkov (pole vault), Maxim Nesterenko (triple jump), Elvira Graborenko and Vitaly Parakhonko (60m hurdles). Anna Mikhailova (400m, silver), Maxim Andraloit (heptathlon, silver) and Yanina Lutsenko (60m, bronze) also reached the podium.
