Cuba committed to deepening trade and investment cooperation with EAEU
Cuba is committed to deepening trade and investment cooperation with the EAEU, Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel said in a video message shown at a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in St. Petersburg, BelTA has learned.
"We see the new mechanism of financial assistance to industrial cooperation in the union as an excellent opportunity for observer countries. This will allow us to promote joint projects. I would like to reaffirm Cuba's commitment to deepening trade and investment cooperation in the free niches of the Eurasian market, which is the first step towards expanding economic, trade, financial and partnership relations with the countries of the union," the Cuban president said.
Miguel Díaz-Canel said that the development of ties with all states of the Eurasian Economic Union is a priority for Cuba. The matter is about cooperation in renewable energy, agriculture, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and manufacturing sector.
Cuba is also interested in developing humanitarian ties with the EAEU countries. "For example, we can think over the creation of a consortium of universities in the Eurasian Economic Union with the participation of Cuba," the president suggested.
