Diplomat: Serbia is grateful to Belarus for support of its sovereignty

Serbia is grateful to Belarus for continuous, consistent and principled support of its sovereignty, BelTA learned from Charge d'Affaires of Serbia in Minsk Aleksandar Crevar, who was invited to attend Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko's Address to the Belarusian people and the parliament on 31 March.

The diplomat pointed out that the Belarusian head of state put a lot of emphasis in his speech on preserving sovereignty and independence, which is important for every state, and is of crucial importance in the current conditions.

“The Republic of Serbia is sincerely grateful to the Republic of Belarus for its continuous, consistent and principled support of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country and appreciates Belarus' firm position on non-recognition of the unilaterally proclaimed independence of the so-called Kosovo and the support of Serbia within international organizations on this issue. We hope that such support will continue,” Aleksandar Crevar said.

In his words, the bilateral relations between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Belarus are based on traditional and sincere friendship, cultural, historical, linguistic and spiritual closeness of the two nations and are successfully developing on all fronts. “Next year we will celebrate a remarkable date - 30 years of diplomatic relations between our countries,” the charge d'affaires said.

“I have been to Belarus many times, and I joined the diplomatic service in Belarus six years ago. I came here with my wife Natasha and my son David. My son is in the second grade of the Minsk gymnasium. My family is more than happy with the living conditions here and admire the beauty of the Belarusian capital,” Aleksandar Crevar shared his impressions. “Despite rapid development, Minsk has managed to maintain its original beauty and purity, which is a rarity in our time. I have often visited other Belarusian cities as part of my work, and my impressions of those places are absolutely the same.”

“Belarus has so much to offer to foreign guests - its rich history, culture, language, architecture, art monuments, natural beauty, delicious cuisine, and most importantly, extraordinary cordiality and kind heartedness of its people. That is why I am convinced that we should speak more about the richness and beauty of Belarus. We share our positive experience of living and working in Belarus with everyone, especially with our compatriots from Serbia,” the diplomat said.
