Drugs pricing regulations amended in Belarus
Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed Decree No. 383 to introduce amendments to Decree No. 366 of 11 August 2005 “On the formation of prices for medications, products for medical purposes and medical equipment” on 5 October, BelTA learned from the press service of Belarusian leader said.
In order to increase sales, many manufacturers offer financial and commodity discounts to pharmacies. These discounts are currently not taken into account in the formation of prices. After the amendments enter into force, the wholesale margin and markup will be applied to factory prices of manufacturers (contract prices of importers) reduced by the size of such discounts.
Apart from that, private and state-owned pharmacies will be able to summarize the wholesale margin and markup when determining wholesale prices for medications.
