‘Saying nothing is better than lying.’ Lukashenko talks about sincerity in politics

In an interview with the Rossiya TV channel Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko talked about sincerity in politics, BelTA has learned.
"It should be borne in mind that politicians very rarely say what they think," the head of state said. The interviewer asked whether Aleksandr Lukashenko himself how sticks to such a model. The president said that he prefers to be sincere always, including in politics, and for this he is sometimes even reproached. But not everything can be said publicly, and sometimes politicians indulge in wishful thinking."But lying is not the way. Because if you lie today tomorrow, the day after tomorrow a journalist will comes and ask that yesterday you said this and today that. And then what will you do?” the head of state asked rhetorically. "So you have to be very careful here. It is better to say nothing."
