Scope of early use of family capital program in Belarus expanded
Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed Decree No.389 “On the use of family capital” on 12 October, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
The document improves mechanisms to support large families. The decree provides for the early use of family capital (starting from 1 January 2022) to improve housing conditions: purchase a share in residential dwelling, as a result of which a large family becomes the owner of the entire housing; repay loans provided by organizations at the place of work of a family member for the construction or purchase of housing; repay debt on loans extended to banks under the debt transfer agreement (debt acceptance).
Family capital can also be used ahead of schedule to receive education in institutions of higher and specialized secondary education of consumers cooperative societies and higher education institutions of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus (FTUB), to get medical products to perform complex and high-tech interventions in orthopedics, to purchase goods for social rehabilitation and integration into society for children under the age of 18 with visual impairments, musculoskeletal disorders.
The decree also regulates issues in part of excluding cases of unjustified use of family capital.
